Geraldine & Carl, My sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. She was a dynamic person and represented Chase City more than anyone I have ever known. Her presence will be greatly missed. She never failed to be very engaging with me and was always very kind to me as well. Frank Rockwell

It was with great saddnes that I learned of Mrs. Pollard's passing. With her Chase City's historian also passed. It is my hope that in time, all the wonderful memories you have of her will turn your tears to smiles. My prayers and love to each of you.

I have fond memories of your mother, grandmother & great grandmother from my childhood days in Chase City. May she live on in your hearts forever.

I have only fond memories of Alphas. She kept me in touch with Chase City for many years with clippings from the Progress. When I came to Chase City I never forgot to visit her. She is the last of my parent's generation, and I will always remember her. My condolences to her Family.

Carl and Mary, We are all so sad. Aunt Alphas was such an important part of ours and our children's lives for so long. She was the most amazing and marvelous person. She lived with so much dfficulty for so long, I am sure she must be smiling now. We had hoped to be there with you, but we have just now returned from taking our grandaughter Stirling to TX to meet cousins over her spring break, and we simply cannotg do a lessthan one day turnaround and fly across the country again. We are sending donations to the church and museum in her name. Love to you all, Anabel and John

Geraldine and Carl, I want to offer my sympathy to you in the passing of your dear mother Alphas, a true backbone of Chase City. But to me, she is that basketful of memories of when we were growing up, sitting around in her beauty shop, just shooting the breeze and hearing her wise advice and things that made us laugh. She was such true kindness and joy, and I can imagine how much you will miss her. My love to you.
