To the Harris Family Paul and I were sorry to hear about Sheriff Harris's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. I had the opportunity to work for Sheriff Harris for several years. He was a no nonsense kind of man, but he had his moments of humor. Everyone knew he didn't like the color red. I had an opportunity to attend a Sheriff's Convention one year with his wife and another deputy one year. I wore a violet dress and when he saw it he said, "girl you couldn't have found a brighter red to wear.". Moments like these are ones you remember as I'm sure you will have those as well. Memories are something we can always cherish and treasure. Wendy and Paul Hawkins

Our deepest condolences to the Harris family and Mecklengurg Community, where Mr. Harris was a legendary Sherriff. I became a part of this wonderful family when I married Scott . They've been a huge part of his life since 1984. I officially joined in 1992. The lake family is wonderful. Now may he rest in peace with his beautiful daughter Gayle

Have known Mr. Harris for many years and always thought the world of him. He was a kind, gentle and caring man. The best Sheriff we have ever had. He was fair and treated people with respect. I talked with him many times after his retirement and he was always the same, never put on airs with anyone. RIP Harold and know you are loved and will be greatly missed. Prayers for family.
