Elsie Carolyn Davis, 79, of Chase City, died April 9, 2014. She was a retired LPN and was predecease by a sister, Dr. C. Anne Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Leigh Shumaker of Chase City, son, David Laten Davis and his wife, Genie of Omaha NE, brother, James Michael Davis of Arvonia, sister, Janice Davis Crutchfield of Chase City, grandchildren, Kelly Shumaker, Jesse Shumaker and Morgan Shumaker, great granddaughter, Madelyn Shumaker. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Ebaneezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is serving the family.
