Claude S. Thompson, Sr. 93, of Blackstone, died June 8, 2015. He was a retired employee of the civil service, an Army veteran and purple heart recipient of WWII and a member of Plantersville United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Loraine Culley Thompson and is survived by his children, Claude S. Thompson, Jr. and wife, Yong of Chase City, David E. “Gene” Thompson and wife, Janice of Boydton, Ann Thompson Cook and husband, Edward of Buckingham, Edna Carol Thompson of Blackstone, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Plantersville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
