Rev. Albert M. Davis, Jr., 68, of Chase City, passed away January 16, 2016.  He was a retired United Methodist Minister having served at Meherrin UMC and on the Cumberland charge. Al was a former employee of the Hampden-Sydney Police Dept., the Prince Edward Sheriff’s Dept., and Burlington Industries. He was a life member of Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad and a former member of the Charlotte Court House Volunteer Fire Dept. Al previously served as a member of the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors. He was actively involved with Southside VA Emmaus and Chrysalis. Al is survived by his wife, Rev. Marsha L. Davis, daughter, Chelsea Davis, son, Nathaniel M. Davis, sister, Mary D. Hoyle and husband, Harvey, brother, George L. Davis and wife, Angie Imperiale. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Beulah United Methodist Church with interment in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends at Abilene Community Center following the service.
