Samuel Thomas Woodson Sr., 65, of Chase City, passed away on August 1, 2016. Sammy was a carpenter and an electrician. Sammy always loved to be outside tinkering around. He has been retired for several years and was a jack of all trades. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family dearly. Sammy was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a missionary for the Addiction Recovery Program “ARP”. He was predeceased by his father, Tom Clark Woodson, mother, Oneta Woodson, brother, Larry Lee Woodson, sister, Barbara Geneva Woodson and daughter, Tammy Martin Trent. He is survived by his wife Peggy, his sons, Samuel Woodson Jr. and wife Diane, Brandon Woodson and wife, Ashley, Randy “Bubba” Martin, daughter, Sandy Tharpe, his grandchildren, Cynthia, Samuel III, and Vanessa Woodson, Daniel and Morgan Foster, Jarrett Martin, Taylor and Colby Trent, great grandson, Noah Woodson, sisters, Ann Woodson Scott and husband Dickie, Brenda Woodson, numerous nieces and nephews, and last but not least his loving companion, “his fur son” Buster the dog. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 pm at Wood Funeral Service. Services will be held at Wood Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Saxe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Drug Abuse Addiction Recovery Program, 561 East Tabernacle, St. George Utah, 84790.
