Helen Cox Vaiden, 81, of Chase City, died August 29, 2016. She was the widow of Raymond Vaiden, the daughter of the late Grady and Janie Eggleston Cox, and also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Lee Cox. Helen was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and a retired employee of Hampco Apparel. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Vaiden Farries of Chase City, son, Kenneth Vaiden of Chase City, granddaughter, Christina Dawn Farries, brother, Tom Cox of Laurel, MD, sisters, Mabel Ellis and Betty Jane Wells, both of South Hill, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Shirley Gregory. The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wood Funeral Service. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jane Lyon officiating.
