Garnett L. Jones, 84, of Skipwith, died November 17, 2016. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a former member of  the V F W, Garnett was also a retired farmer and a member of Skipwith Hunt Club and an avid fox hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lillie Jones, his brothers and sisters, Herman Jones, Nelson Jones, Alease Cage, Reginald Jones, David Gee Jones, Evelyn Inge and Joyce Owen. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Jones, children, Steve Jones, Juanita Johnson and husband, Danny, Denise “Pete” Lenhart and husband, Mike, Pam Ashworth and husband, Steve, brother, Jim Jones, grandchildren, Jared Lenhart and wife, Vauna, Lucus Lenhart, Keri Lenhart, Cecil Johnson and wife, Jenny, Scooter Ashworth, Heath Jones and wife, Jessica, Libby Jones, sister-in-law. Margaret E. Jones 12 great- great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
