Charles Edward McGinnis, 75, of Chase City, passed away on May 18, 2017. Charles was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and upon retirement, he worked with Lake Country Area Agency on Aging. Charles attended Mecklenburg Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hilda E. McGinnis, daughters, Dolores Hudson and husband Rodney of Buffalo Junction, Joan Hamlett Byrd of Chase City, Gina McGinnis of Wilmington NC, grandchildren, Elizabeth Glaze and husband Jason, Nathan Hudson, Eli Hudson, Noah Hudson, Emma Grace, Joshua Hamlett, Daniel Hamlett, nieces, Sharon Oslin, Robbin Talley, and a nephew, Darryl McGinnis. The family will receive friends Saturday evening 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Wood Funeral Service. Services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at Mecklenburg Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Hay officiating. Interment will follow at Black Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
