Geraldine Rush “Jere” Lenhart, 87, of Chase City, passed away December 4, 2017. Jere was a member of Wylliesburg Baptist Church, a member of Woodmen Life Chapter 179, and a charter member of the Mecklenburg Lioness Club. She is preceded in death by her parents E.E. and Fern Rush of Wylliesburg, and a sister Elizabeth R. Stumps of Chase City. Jere was survived by her husband of 68 years, N.J. Lenhart, 5 children, Kathy Moss, and husband Gray, of Skipwith, Becky Baffuto, and husband Tommy, of Matoaca, Denie Wallace, and husband Chuck, of Chase City, Jay Lenhart, and wife Traci, of Glen Allen, Mary Ellen Jones, and husband Bill, of Richmond, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother, Eddie Rush, and wife Cynthia, of Wylliesburg, and a sister, Linda Schmiel, and husband Jon, of Richmond, a dear cousin, Panzie Pruett, a sister-in-law, Nancy Lenhart, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Wylliesburg Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church following the committal, and at all other times, their home. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Chase City Rescue Squad and the caring aides of the Being a Blessing Agency. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wylliesburg Baptist Church, c/o Terri Jones, 3676 Jeb Stuart Highway, Red Oak, VA, 23964   Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is serving the family.
