Michael Saunders Winn, age 68, of Skipwith, passed away October 24, 2018. He was a retired tobacco, vegetable, and soybean farmer. Mike also served as a deputy with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office,  Board member of Mecklenburg County Farm Bureau, and MacCallum More Museum and Gardens. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and grew up in Trinity United Methodist Church. Mike was the son of the late Franklin Earl and Jacqueline Saunders Winn and was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Earl Winn Jr. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Stumps Winn, son, Michael Todd Winn and wife, Amanda, grandson, Miles Tobin Winn, brother, Greg Winn and wife Alice, sister, Lin Winn Jennings and husband, Jim, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Tommy Parker, Jay Staton, Gray Moss, and David Buchanan. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at 10:00 AM preceding the service. Following the interment, the family will host a reception at Campbell Hall of New Hope Baptist Church.
