Betty S. Godsey, age 83, of Chase City passed away October 3, 2022. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Betty retired from Carter Bank & Trust and Benchmark Community Bank. She is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Seamans, and great nephew, Cameron Singleton. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Robert Godsey; sisters, Catherine Seamans, Diane Layne (Charles); nephew, Stephen Layne; nieces, Stephanie Layne, Michelle Seamans; and great nephew, Chad Bunn. Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
