Ervin Wells Whitlow, age 83, of Chase City passed away November 28, 2022. He was retired from The National Endowment for the Arts. Ervin is the son of the late Vance & Effie Whitlow and preceded in death by a brother, Vance Whitlow, Jr. and sister, Doris Larman. Surviving is his son, Duane Whitlow; sisters, Dollie Wood, Margaret Vining; grandchildren, Scott (Byron) Whitlow, Renee Whitlow; special friend, Edith Callahan & family; caregivers, Chery Coleman “Fee-Fee”, Willicia “Maggie” Crutchfield, Glenn Chavis, Elenor Hopkins & her family, Tim, Dylan “Zeke”, and Savanah; and several nieces and nephews . Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
