Virginia Lee Hudson Harris, age 88, of Chase City passed away May 28, 2023. Virginia was a member of Black Branch Baptist Church and The Auxiliary of The Gideons International. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her husband, her family, “all” flowers, her garden, her animals, working with children, singing, and music. She was an Acteens Leader, member of the choir, WMU, and nursery worker at Black Branch Church. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Richard Harris who she married March 23, 1951; as well as her parents, Oscar & Vernia White Hudson; sons, Dean Allen Harris (Bonnie), Dan Richard Harris (Becky), Dennis Dale Harris; brothers and sisters, Thelma Franklin, Mildred Walton, Clarence Hudson, Frank Hudson; and grandson, John Allen Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Lee Harris; son, Rodney Earl Hudson (Dolores); sister, Ruth Black; brother, Earl Hudson (Faye) grandchildren, Heather Harris, Katherine H. Fisher (Brad), Daniel Harris (Katie), Elizabeth Glaze (Jason), Nathan Hudson, Eli Hudson, Noah Hudson, Emma Hudson; great grandchildren, Bryton Fisher, Ryker Fisher, Mason Harris, Jackson Harris, Hudson Harris, Kayla Johnson, Hunter Johnson; & numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 2, 2023, at Black Branch Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. A luncheon/reception will be held at the fellowship hall following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Black Branch Baptist Church, 3370 Hwy 47, Chase City, Va. 23924.
