Louise Burns Bailey, age 99, of Fort Mitchell, Virginia, passed away on May 30, 2023. She was born May 7, 1924, in Lunenburg County to the late John H. Burns and Annie Delma W. Burns.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James D. (Jimmy) Bailey. She was also predeceased in death by her brothers, infant Joseph Burns, Roy Burns, Andrew Burns, and sister Lillian Burns Bailey.
Louise was a loving mother and is survived by her four children; son, Roger Bailey (Janet) of Chase City, daughters, Barbara Morris (Fred), Wanda Barnes (Charles) of Fort Mitchell, and Judy Smith of Chesterfield; her six grandchildren, Craig Burks, Kelly Crowder (Ty), Shannon Burks (Kimberly), Jeff Bailey (Tracy), Monica Snead (Fray) and Brandon Smith; great-grandchildren, Ethan Crowder, Addison Crowder, Rilynn Snead, Ella Smith and Barrett Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and sister in law, Frances Thompson.
She was a life-long member of Salem Christian Church in Fort Mitchell and was the last living member of her generation.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Chase City Health and Rehab Center for all their care, and a special thank you to Marcy, Melissa, Irene, Nicole, and Cynthia.
Services will be held at Salem Christian Church 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2023. Following the service will be a reception held in the followship hall.
