John H. Blankenship Jr. “Harvey”, 65, passed away peacefully with family on Thursday, August 17th, 2023.

Born September 30th, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of John H. Blankenship Sr. and Shirley M. Blankenship, brother of Jodi L. Roze (Clint), father to John H. Blankenship III (fiancé Brittany) and Paige B. Gillentine (Eric), grandfather to Bradley & Aubrey Gillentine and Hailey Blankenship, uncle to Alex Fisher (Ashley) and Hannah Miller (Logan) and great-uncle to Cali & Charlie Fisher.

John worked with his family moving company, Congressional Movers, Inc. for 26 years. He then found his passion as a Fiberglass Fabricator and spent 15 years restoring boats/yachts at Osprey Marine Composites, Inc. in Tracys Landing, MD.

He was a simple and humble man. He loved making people laugh and smile. He enjoyed the water, crabbing, boats, hunting, fishing, beautiful skies, wilderness, football, playing the guitar, fixing things, “FAMILY HUGS” and had a lifetime full of great memories and travels. He had the funniest jokes/sayings/songs and was truly one of a kind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation in John’s memory.
