Sherry Schoonover Hughes, age 80, passed away December 2, 2023. Sherry was married 60 years to her husband, William (Bill) Hughes, Jr. She was a beloved wife, mother, and mema. She loved to cook and bake cakes. When she became unable to do as much, she loved watching cooking and animal channels. She enjoyed watching the birds at all her bird feeders and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Sherry is proceeded in death by her granddaughter; Kendal Tharpe. Surviving is her children; Connie Harris, Carie Davis (Robert); Pamela Lasher, William Haywood Hughes, III, William Henry Hughes (Jackie), Shelby Tharpe (Tim), Shelly Smith (Henry); grandchildren, Darren Singleton (Lindsay), Travis Davis, Crystal Singleton, Leslie Smith, Priscilla Guill; great grandchildren, SJ Hatcher, and Easton Singleton. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church.
