Susan Short Dalton, age 73 of Nathalie, passed away on April 6, 2024 surrounded by loved ones as she took her last breath at Lynchburg General Hospital. Susan was born in Halifax County on September 20, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Lindbergh Short & Doris Crews Short. Susan enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. She is survived by her daughter, Susan “Carol” Bing; son, Freddie “Scott” Bing (Sherri); brother, Calvin “Ricky” Short (Virginia); grandchildren, Ashley Webb (Ricky), Brandy Smith (Brandon), Kaysi Bing (Noah), Matthew Bing, Christopher Anthony, Brooklyn Bing, Jocelyn Bing; great grandson, Michael Webb; and a number of cousins. We would like to thank her cousins for being by her side in her final moments. A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024, at John H. Kerr Dam (old picnic area), 5164 Buggs Island Rd. Boydton, Va.23917. There will be a catered meal following the service.  Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
