Beverly Bailey Carey, age 61 of Wylliesburg passed away suddenly on Thursday June 20, 2024. Beverly was a devoted mother to her three sons, Joey, Matthew, and Jonathan and grandmother to Madison and Bayleigh. Beverly was born on February 1, 1963. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years Joseph Edward Carey Sr.; and her parents Garland and Barbara Owen Bailey. She is survived by her sons Joey (Bridgette), Matthew (Jessica), Jonathan (Brittany), granddaughters Madison and Bayleigh; sister Jackie; and nephew Corey; and many extended family members and friends. Beverly adored her community of Wylliesburg. She lived in Wylliesburg and always considered it home. She served a majority of her career as Postmaster in Wylliesburg.  She was a dedicated Postal Service employee that followed in the footsteps of her mother Barbara. She also served on the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. She made a positive impact on those around her. To know Beverly was to love her. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and compassion towards others. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, her dogs Buffy and Copper, farming, gardening, and going to the beach. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to those who knew and loved her. Beverly’s legacy of kindness and dedication will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Services will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at Wylliesburg Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 506 Jackson Vaughan Rd. Wylliesburg, Va. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
