Lawrence Schermerhorn, age 88, of Chase City passed away August 8, 2024.  Lawrence was a retired employee of Phillip Morris.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Alice Schermerhorn.  Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Schermerhorn, children, James S. Schermerhorn (Sandra), Cynthia R. Schermerhorn, Russell K. Schermerhorn, Sandra M. Wade, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Woodland Cemetery. Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
