Safford Reid Breedlove, age 81 passed away following a brave battle with cancer. Safford was born in Wren, VA. He was a GED graduate of Randolph Henry. Safford has been married to Charlene Skelton- Breedlove for 57 years. Safford worked at R. L. Ponton Pallet Plant, Stanley Land and Lumber Company, and Adams Lumber Company. Safford loved the outdoors, and loved to fish, hunt, travel, read, going to auctions, and antiquing. Safford was a Church Delegate to the District Conference, was a member of Hebron Church in Saxe, VA and participated in Easter egg hunts, Vacation Bible School, Thanksgiving services, and Christmas programs. A former member of the sons of Confederate Veterans, the Sesquicentennial Committee, the Genealogy Club, and the Committee for the book: “The Heritage of Charlotte County 1765-2011 Volume II.” Safford is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Sr., and Gracie Elder Breedlove, his brothers Stanley Jr, William, Alexander, and sister Frances. Surviving is Safford’s wife of 57 years, Charlene Skelton-Breedlove, his siblings, Frank Breedlove, Nancy Dunlap, Peggy Simms, Francis Breedlove, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at Hebron Church in Saxe, VA on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.  Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
