Mildred Wilson Caknipe, 75, of Chase City, died December 12, 2013. She was a retired cashier with Chase City Colonial Store and the widow of James L. Caknipe, Sr. and a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Jean Robinette and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Catherine Bowen and Wallace of Buffalo Jct., sons and daughters-in-law, James L. Caknipe, Jr. and Peggy, Timothy S. Caknipe and Sarah, of Chase City, sisters, Carrie Lee Fitz of Red Oak, Phyllis Clem of Shenandoah, grandchildren, Kevin Robinette, Brian Robinette, Stacy Robinette, Melissa Kittrell, Brandy Dawn Ferrell, Jamie Caknipe, Jessica Caknipe, Courtney Caknipe, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wood Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Sunday with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
