Anita Fields Wilson, age 86, formerly of Chase City, passed away on August 9, 2016, at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington NC. She was born on November 15, 1929 in Opelika Ala to the late Lewis and Lucille Fields. Anita served as secretary/accountant for Bill and Lewis Candy Company. After leaving Bill and Lewis Candy Co., she was a caretaker for several years before retiring. In retirement, she enjoyed gardening and always had beautiful geraniums. Anita was also devoted to Bethel Baptist Church where she has been a member for over 60 years. She actively served in positions needed for the various groups. Anita is survived by her children, John Wayne Wilson and his wife Linda, Deborah Wilson Kyle and her husband Bill. Four grandchildren, Steve (Jenn) and Shelby Griffith, Raven Vestal and Danyon (Kacie) Wilson . She also has 6 great grandchildren, Cleat Wilson, Gracie Vestal, Cameron Geddings, Breland, Hudson, and Larkyn Griffith. Anita recently lost a dear sister Reba Hughes, and has surviving, a brother Syndey L. Fields, Jr., and two sisters, Alice Riddle and Betty Prescott. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 9040 Trottinridge Road, Chase City, Virginia 23924. Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is serving the family.
