Evelyn Toombs Ellington

Evelyn Toombs Ellington, 83, of Skipwith, passed away November 6, 2017. She was the widow of Bobbie Ellington and a retired employee of Craddock Terry Shoe Corporation. Evelyn was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She is survived by her son, Michael Ellington, grandson, Robert Ellington, granddaughter, Priscilla Ellington, great-granddaughters, Katie Ellington and Abigail Gordon, sisters, Agnes Brankley and Charlotte Reese, sisters-in-law, Marie Lenhart and Sue Toombs. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2526 New Hope Road, Skipwith, VA 23968. Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is serving the family.
