William R. Gentry

William (Bill) Gentry III, 60 of Chase City, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2018 at the home he shared with his lifelong partner and husband, David (Allen) Trent. He was born January 10, 1958 to William R. Jr. and Clarice Gentry. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He enjoyed a long career in nursing. Bill served at Camelot Nursing Home in Danville, 18 years at Danville Regional and retired from Somerset Assisted Living in South Boston. He enjoyed gospel music and was an avid collector. Bill loved spending time with other people. Everyone he met he loved and they loved him in return. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 20 at Bethel Baptist Church in Scottsburg with Rev. Greg Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 4198 Bethel Road Scottsburg, VA 24589. Floral pieces may be sent to the home at 501 VA Avenue, Chase City, VA 23924.
