Maxie R. “Max” Wade, age 78, of Chase City, passed away October 5, 2020. Max was a Navy Veteran, a retired foreman with Pierce Associates as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, Local 100, for 52 years. Max was also a member of Falling River Baptist Church, a member and president of the Willis River Hunt Club, and a member of the Brookneal Sportsman’s Club for a number of years. He was preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia Wade, and his parents, Herman and Lurline Wade. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucinda “Cindy” Wade, son, Darrell Wade (Michelle), brother, Thomas Wade (Linda), grandchildren, Braelyn Wade, Kinsley Wade, Eryn Hottle, great grandchildren, Tristyn Hottle, Lily Hottle, niece, Dedra Love ( Chuck) and nephew, Dwayne Wade. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 6:30-8:00 PM at Wood Funeral Service. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Friday, October 9, 2020 at Falling River Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookneal, Virginia with military honors.
