Cassie Layton Sawyer

Cassie Sawyer, age 78 of Chase City passed away August 17, 2021. She is the widow of Robert Sawyer. Surviving are her children, Diana Wilson, Robin Sawyer, Steven Sawyer; grandchildren, Jennifer McGee (Dale), Emily Austell (Adam), Alicen Gay (Matthew), Amber Hawk (Andre Mickey), Zachary Hawk, Destiny Townes; great grandchildren, Kyri Posey, Izabella Posey, Kaitlynn McGee, AaLeah Hawk, Aariana Mickey, and Madelynn Gay. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Jennifer McGee, 428 West Sycamore St. Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wood Funeral Service to help offset funeral expenses. Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
