Leroy Edward Swartzel

Leroy Edward Swartzel, age 87 of Drakes branch passed away March 2, 2023. He proudly serve the United States Army and is a Vietnam war veteran. He retired from the Department of Defense in Norfolk, Virginia then moved to Drakes Branch to raise exotic domesticated animals with his wife. Leroy was raised Pentecostal and loved the Lord. He survived by his loving wife, Bernice “Candy” Swartzel. children: Rebecca Velez (David Wilson), Ronald Spelman (Vickie), Renee Waters (Jerry) and Roberta Thomas . He is also survived by two brothers, Joel Swartzel and Russell Swartzel , two sisters Sandy Nissen and Marybell Blakely. He has nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A special thank you to Rebecca Velez for taking such good care of Leroy.
