Claude Allen Petersen, Jr.

Claude Allen Petersen, Jr., age 75, of Chase City passed away April 17, 2023. He was a retired police officer and later fireman with the City of Richmond. After retirement Claude and Jane moved back to Chase City and purchased a cattle farm. Claude was involved in boy scouts for numerous years and a former deacon at Black Branch Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Claude A. Petersen, Sr. & Mildred Queen Petersen. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug Petersen. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Jane Petersen; son, Burch Petersen; brother, Wayne Petersen; grandsons, Haydon Petersen, Ethan Petersen; niece, Tara Petersen; nephew, Damon Petersen. A visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Service. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at Wood Funeral Chapel. with interment following at Woodland Cemetery.
