Harley Daniel Ligon, of Virgilina , Virginia, passed away May 21, 2023, at the age of 20. Harley graduated from Halifax Co. High School in 2020. He was a member of Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church. Harley was employed with Ligon Farms & AFS. Harley was a thoughtful, kind soul who gave really good hugs and could always make anyone feel better by making them laugh. Harley enjoyed spending time with friends and family and enjoyed keeping up with the latest fashion trends: shoes, clothes, jewelry, and especially anything red. Harley ran track in high school, was a member of ROTC, and loved to play basketball.
Harley deeply loved his mother, Crystal Ligon and grandmother, Anita Hogan. He lost both special women at the end of last year. Harley was preceded in death by his mother, Crystal Ann Ligon, and maternal grandparents, Barry Ligon and Anita Hogan Talley, paternal great grandparents, Robert “Barry” Ligon and Alice Smith Ligon; maternal great grandparents, James Thomas Hogan and Irene Puckett Hogan, and great uncles: Thomas William Hogan, James Bran Hogan, and Carl Edward Hogan.
Cherishing his memory are his uncle, James Robert “J.R.” Ligon (children, Jonah & Isaac Ligon); aunts, Laney Ligon and Erin Ligon. great uncles and aunts: Terry Ligon (Teresa, children Alex & Brandon Ligon) of Buffalo Junction, VA, Loretta Roberts of Bahama, NC, Wayne Hogan (Sue) of Clarksville and Larry Hogan of Virgilina. Special cousins Regina Garner (Mike and children Trysten & Michael) of South Boston, VA, Tami Wells (Steve and children Kaitlyn, Steve & Maggie) of Concord, Va; Lisa Ramsey (Scott) of Buffalo Junction, Va., numerous cousins, extended family members, girlfriend, and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 27 at Buffalo Baptist Church, 803 Buffalo Church Rd. Buffalo Junction, VA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Harley & family asks that memorial contributions may be made at Benchmark Community Bank to set up a scholarship fund or donation to your favorite charity regarding Suicide Awareness.
